Calculate Your Net Salary
About This Calculator
This Ontario Net Salary Calculator estimates your take-home pay after federal tax, provincial tax, CPP (Canada Pension Plan), and EI (Employment Insurance). Each Canadian province and territory has its own income tax rates, so your net pay varies by where you live. The calculator supports pre-tax deductions (e.g. health insurance) and RRSP contributions to give a more accurate estimate. Tax rates are based on CRA data for the selected year.
How Is Take-Home Pay Calculated in Ontario?
Federal income tax uses five progressive brackets (15%, 20.5%, 26%, 29.32%, 33%). The basic personal amount reduces taxable income before federal tax. Provincial/territorial tax in Ontario uses its own brackets and ratesβour calculator includes the current rates for Ontario.
CPP contributions are 5.95% on earnings between the basic exemption and the Year's Maximum Pensionable Earnings (YMPE). EI is 1.66% on insurable earnings up to the maximum. Quebec uses QPP instead of CPP with slightly different rates.
Net salary = gross salary minus federal tax, provincial tax, CPP, EI, and any RRSP or other pre-tax deductions. The calculator provides estimates only; for official rates, see the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
